Snack Mix
This delicious fun activity can be made easily! There is a short wait time to share and eat! Once you teach your child, they can make it independently, with your supervision of course.
For Grades Pre-K and up
The materials needed:
4 1 dry measuring cups
1 large bowl
popcorn
pretzels
dried fruit and
dry cereal
1. Everyone washes their hands. (As you wash sing happy birthday, that is how long you should be washing your hands).
2.Fill each measuring cup with each ingredient.
3. Combine all ingredients into the large bowl.
4. Set aside.
5. Clean dishes.
6. Eat and enjoy!
If you are a parent of a child with special needs, you can provide your child with a word free recipe! List the 6 steps by using pictures.
Encouraging words you as a parent can say to your child throughout making the recipe; looking good, marvelous, beautiful sharing...

You mentioned washing your hands to the tune of Happy Birthday since it represented the proper length one should wash his or her hands. Could you offer another children’s song that would fit this time frame?
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of pictures to help younger children follow along. It is so difficult to find a "cooking " activity in the kitchen that is safe to do with a young child so this is great. Your recipe sounds yummy.
